Missionary Glenda Johnson Sicard
My name is Missionary Glenda Johnson Sicard, and I am the Founder and CEO of Sons of the Sun Inc. I am a healer by nature, a motivational speaker, a grant writer, a youth peer facilitator, and most importantly, an advocate for the voiceless.
My Story
My diverse experiences span from being a Girl Scout and a cheerleader coach to fulfilling roles as a mother, wife, and grandmother. Having faced and overcome challenges such as homelessness, domestic violence, and molestation, I am here to affirm that healing is an ongoing process and integral to life itself. I have dedicated myself to working through these experiences and emerging whole.
Being a Credible Messenger involves not only the work we do but also the relationships we build within and outside our communities to introduce and implement "Trauma-Informed Care." Understanding the root of one's trauma enables individuals to enter a healing stage and transform into survivors.
